Goals

This workshop will focus on helping participants design methods of best practice research-based qualitative methods in their Noyce projects that foster the efficient collection and organization of qualitative data to answer research questions about STEM preservice teachers both in preservice classrooms, field-based experiences and in STEM classrooms after graduation.

Evidence

The author has been on five Noyce projects, three Track 1, and two Track 4, and has produced five peer-reviewed research publications, and ten research presentations at national and regional education research conferences. The author has significant experience and training in qualitative research methods.

Proposal

Designing, organizing and collecting qualitative data for research in STEM preservice teacher education can be intimidating. This workshop will focus on research-based methods of designing qualitative research that fosters the efficient collection and organization of qualitative data to answer research questions about STEM preservice teachers both in STEM preservice field-based experiences and in the classroom after graduation.
