Proposal
Building a successful and meaningful mentoring program in rural communities has proven to be a difficult task. Through many trials, challenges and successes, Dalton State College has been able to develop a mentoring program for current and former NOYCE scholars which benefits all stakeholders. The program is set in rural North Georgia and focuses on the development of a mentoring program which is multi-level. The program encourages reciprocal learning through the mentor/mentee relationship. This development in the mentor program promotes teacher candidate and new teacher growth and retention.
