Proposal

A professor of mathematics discusses lessons from proposal preparation through his third year managing a Track 1 Noyce project focused on rural schools. The project recruits individuals with STEM bachelor’s degrees. These Scholars complete master’s degrees in education to become teachers. The project supports these new teachers for the first year in the classroom with mentor teachers and with periodic professional learning meetings. The project has recruited fewer Scholars than anticipated, but they have achieved more than the project team imagined when writing the proposal. The talk focuses on practical matters of proposal preparation and project management.
