Proposal

The Noyce program at California State University, Fresno offers a unique and enriching experience to its scholarship recipients. Through the use of content mentoring, early field experience, pedagogy-focused seminars, and conference opportunities, future teachers are beyond prepared to work in high-need schools. This talk will highlight research conducted at the university which concludes that the specialized program prepares scholars to work with their students in engaging and equitable ways with higher retention rates. Future educators will be able to compare the program’s components which elevate teacher preparation. By highlighting the program’s assets and areas for improvement, this talk seeks to promote discussion on how Noyce Scholars can be effectively prepared to work in high-need classrooms.
