Using Student Performance Data to Adapt and Modify Instruction for Life Science Students

Abstract

This study focuses on the experiences of a Noyce scholar enrolled in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program at the University of Vermont. As part of state licensure portfolio requirements, scholars complete an Analysis of Learning Project during the 4-week solo teaching period that demonstrates their ability to summarize evidence for student growth aligned to learner outcomes for an student on an IEP. This presentation describes assessment and data collection strategies utilized by a Noyce scholar that demonstrates the impact of these strategies on student learning in a 10th grade biology class.
