Supporting New Teachers Through Online Induction

Abstract

This research focuses on identifying the key elements of NAU’s induction program and how they develop teacher confidence, pedagogical content knowledge innovative teaching practices and professional learning communities. Even though our sample is small, there is evidence of teacher growth and retention. We have found that not only are the participants remaining in the field, they are leaders at their school. They not only survive their first year, but they thrive.
