Abstract
At the moment there are two formulas that are primarily used when it comes to solving for the roots of a polynomial, the quadratic equation and the cubic equation. When it comes to quartic equations there is a formula to use to find the roots but unlike with the quadratic and cubic formula it’s so complicated that there has been no reason to teach it. The purpose of this independent study was to determine whether there is a way to create a simplified quartic equation. This poster presents my observations regarding the properties of quartic equations. These observations were made by making use of the properties associated with the quadratic and cubic equation and polynomials of said degrees.
