Abstract

We will share insights from our year-long journey in the Noyce program, where we engaged in an immersive student-teacher experience under the guidance of experienced mentor teachers. Throughout this transformative year, we gained a deep understanding of the Five Practices for Orchestrating Productive Mathematics Discussions and honed our skills in various classroom management techniques. Our presentation will highlight key learnings from the program, including effective strategies for facilitating meaningful math discussions and creating an inclusive classroom environment. We will also share some of our most memorable classroom experiences with our mentors. This includes showcasing lesson plans we co-created with our mentor teachers, thoughtfully designed around the Five Practices to foster student engagement and understanding.Join us as we reflect on our growth, share practical tips, and celebrate the collaborative efforts that made our student-teacher experience invaluable.
