Abstract
This poster focuses on the promotion of fostering growth mindsets in the classroom and encouraging students to be in touch with their STEM Identity. Having a growth mindset allows students to prosper in and outside of the classroom. It is vital that students know that making mistakes or misunderstanding a concept the first time, is okay, and teachers must create an environment in which students feel comfortable doing so. This poster highlights the differences in having a fixed verse growth mindset, and depicts the connections between growth mindset and STEM Identity. STEM is not limited to the four subjects making up the acronym BIOCHEMACS, and integration of STEM and student capability through STEM is essential.
