Abstract
Educating Mathematics and Science Teachers Who Can Prepare High School Students for 21st Century College and Career Pathways is a Track 1 Noyce project with the goal of increasing the number, diversity, and quality of preservice teachers entering and graduating from Sacramento State’s Single Subject Teaching Credential Program in science and mathematics. This poster was created by current Noyce Scholars in our project to describe their personal stories of the impact of the Noyce program in their own words. Scholars describe the financial impact of the program, reducing the stress of needing to work while earning their teaching credentials. Although these financial benefits were the primary reason that most of our Scholars applied for Noyce, the impacts that they have experienced go far beyond the scholarship money. Scholars describe how the close community within our Noyce project helped to develop an interdisciplinary math/science perspective of teaching as well as created a family of support in the credential program and beyond. They also describe the importance of engaging and interacting with the larger Noyce community in developing their identity as *Noyce Scholars* beyond Sacramento State’s Campus.
