Abstract
In education, the two prevailing formats include the block and traditional scheduling. There has been a debate between the two about their effectiveness. Research is aimed at determining which of these two scheduling methods is more beneficial to students. Some teachers have debated that the traditional schedule is more effective while others believed that the block schedule was more effective. Previous studies have shown that in a block schedule missing one class is compared to missing two days in traditional. In order to determine between the two, teachers were asked to fill out a survey to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each and their opinions about either. It is expected that the results of the survey will support traditional scheduling and that the traditional scheduling will not only be preferred by teachers but also increase student knowledge retention. The information obtained should persuade administrators to stick to tradition class schedule and add to the growing body of evidence that traditional scheduling is more beneficial to students.
