Background:

My name is Sean Walker. I’m from Prince Georges County, MD. I attended DeMatha Catholic High School, and currently am a junior at Towson University. I’m very involved on campus, and participate in a number of organizations, and also a few STEM programs as well.

Why do you want to teach:

I’ve wanted to teach for as long as I can remember. I really do gain fulfillment in seeing others succeed. I’m dedicated to teaching, inspiring youth, and hopefully integrating current technology into my classroom. I want my students to be as excited about the world of mathematics as I am.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

I currently work in an inner city middle school. Seeing my specific group of students succeed and watching their faces light up when a concept “clicks” makes me proud. It makes me realize that I really am making a difference in someone’s life.

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

As a new member of the Noyce Program, there has already been a great deal of support. I love that the Noyce program is like a family, and they’re always there to give you hands-on feedback and experience. They are truly dedicated to cultivating great educators.
