Background:
I began my professional career as a scientist but found my true passion was for teaching. I am hooked and know I will be a teacher for the rest of my life.
Why do you want to teach:
I strive to inspire students to do more than they ever thought possible to make the world a better place.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
In a middle school class an “energetic” student looked into a microscope at a drop of pond water. He exclaimed “that is beast!” and from that moment on, that student was full of questions about the natural world, and I could see a true hunger for learning growing in him.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
I have found the collaborative efforts of fellows to be invaluable to enhancing my teaching. Additionally I am able to draw upon the experience of others which makes my classroom an environment rich in current material and techniques.
