Background:
I graduated from the University of South Carolina (USC), Columbia with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I am currently in my last year in the Master of Arts in Teaching Program at USC.

Why do you want to teach:
I sincerely enjoy being in a classroom and watching my students' faces light up when they finally understand something. I think being a teacher is a wonderful career and the fact that we can help change students' lives is amazing! I want to be able to help my students grow and learn to love science!

Describe a memorable teaching experience:
The first time I realized that teaching was the career for me was when I was a teaching assistant for the university’s biology 101 laboratory. I was helping one of the students piece together the meaning behind our inquiry-based experiment, and when it clicked, she got so excited. I love every minute of helping my students discover science.

What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program has helped to introduce me to new techniques and ways of teaching. I love the collaboration that this program gives, and it has enabled me to become the best teacher I can be.
