Background:

I was born in St. Cloud, Florida and moved to Monroe, North Carolina when I was in the 5th grade. I went to Monroe High School with my twin brother. There we both succeed in our math classes. Since I liked math so much I decided I’d go to a mathematics university, which led me to North Carolina State University. There I quickly got involved in a college ministry called Campus Crusade for Christ. State is where I also decided to double major in mathematics and mathematics education, which led me to the Noyce Scholarship.

Why do you want to teach:

I want to teach because I want to serve the community. I love kids, so I figured teaching at a high school would be the best fit.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

My most memorable teaching moment is when I danced in front of my students. It stands out because it perfectly describes how I want to teach. I believe that students learn best when they are comfortable and motivated. So,

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

The Noyce program has given me a community of people who share the same motivation and excitement for teaching that I have. I have people I can call on for advice or lessons and I call the same people on a hard day.
