Background:

I have been a science educator in Hillsborough County Public Schools for 15 years. I am National Board Certified in Early Adolescence Science. Currently, I am a science coach at Memorial Middle School, a Renaissance school (90%+ free or reduced lunch), and work to support science instruction at my site. I also spend a lot of time serving as a professional developer for middle school science and the Teacher Induction Program.

Why do you want to teach:

I want to inspire a love of science and sense of wonder in the students I teach. I also want them to be well-versed in 21st century skills and be prepared to compete in the global marketplace as responsible citizens.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

I think if we do it right, it’s all memorable!

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

The Noyce program provides me with the opportunity to improve science education and impact student learning. I am thankful for the opportunity to participate in decision-making as we implement the Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards.
