Why do you want to teach:
I’ve grown up respecting education. I think having an education is a very valuable asset. And I hope to be a quality educator.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
I just started working as a tutor and was teaching a student about logarithms. I remember she had no clue what a log was. So we started from the beginning with exponents then moved to the definition of a log. By the end she knew the product and quotient rule for logs and could simplify expressions using both rules. The best part was that she was proud of herself. You could tell that she was happy that she knew that she fully understood the concept.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program brings me together with other science and math educators whose experience I can learn from.
