Background:
I received my bachelor of science degree in Biology from Arizona State University in May 2010. I am actively involved in my national public service sorority, Delta Sigma Theta.
Why do you want to teach:
Initially, I wanted to attend dental school, but after working in the field for a year I quickly realized that I wanted a more rewarding career path. That is when I decided to teach.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
I’ve been mentoring for a few years now, and there isn’t one memorable moment, there are hundreds. My favorite aspect is watching and helping my girls achieve their goals; especially matriculating to a university.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
This scholarship has afforded me the opportunity to focus completely on my education, and it is quickly helping me become a highly qualified educator.
