Background:
I am a wife and mother of three. I am currently at home with a newborn, but am heading back to college in the Fall of 2011.
Why do you want to teach:
I want to teach because I want to make a difference in not only my future students’ lives, but in the education system as well. I want to show students how rewarding learning can be.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
Three years ago I was a long term sub in a sixth grade science class for about six months. I had subbed in a variety of grades prior to this and was constantly hearing from students that had been in my mother’s class about how much they loved her. This year my mother has the students who I taught, and they are telling her how much they miss me and that they enjoyed having me as a teacher. I have a great sense of pride that I left these students with a good impression and hopefully a fun learning experience!
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program means a great deal to me. Without it, I would not be in school right now and would not be pursuing my dream. It also means that my family can count on me to help support them in the future.
