William Paterson University
Current academic or teaching status:
Senior

Not yet
Background:
I have been working for more than half my life, and as time has gone on I went from job to job. I felt that going back to school would allow me to pursue a career in a field/subject I love.
Why do you want to teach:
I want to educate the future of tomorrow. It is important to not only have a class of students who love math and do well, but to get that ‘ah-ha’ moment from the students for whom math is not their strong suit.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
When I was a senior in high school, I was taking Physics and was struggling a lot. I was not doing well and by the end of the school year was in danger of not graduating. My teacher sat with me after school every day for three weeks before the final to tutor me. I passed the final and graduated. I will always remember what she did for me to ensure that I would graduate.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
It is an honor to have received this scholarship. The financial aid is a benefit too.
