Background:

I grew up in San Bernardino. I am the youngest of 7 siblings.

Why do you want to teach:

I decided to teach because I grew up admiring teachers. I also felt that more qualified teachers are needed in the low-income areas. I want to make a difference in the lives of my students.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

My most memorable teaching experience was my first Aha moment. I was helping the student graph y=x and they started creating a table and all of the sudden the aha moment happened and they felt more confident in themselves after that.

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

Well I think that the Noyce program was created for me. I always wanted to teach in the San Bernardino City Unified School District because I attended middle school and high school there. It was a way for me to give back and to help the students that come from a similar background as me. The program provided the skills that I would need for my 1st year as a teacher. I learned so much from my mentor and it was all thanks to the Noyce Program.
