Background:

I recently graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in Biology. In my time there I was on our division 1 rowing team and also worked as a research assistant for an evolutionary biologist on campus. I was born in Stockton, CA and attented the Tokay public High School in Lodi,CA.

Why do you want to teach:

I want to be a teacher because I would not have attended college had my high school teachers not motivated and inspired me.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

I have not started my program yet. It begins August 1st 2011.

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

The Noyce program has provided the means to become a teacher as well as many important connections. Noyce Scholars who are a year ahead of me have taken the time to discuss the program and their experiences. This sort of relationship has made me feel supported in what I expect to be a challenging but exciting year.
