Background:

I have moved to five different places growing up, due to transfers connected with my father’s job. This has exposed me to a variety of academic settings and curricula, and has impressed upon me both the importance and the enjoyment of mathematics as a subject area.

Why do you want to teach:

I would like to help students better understand mathematics. I owe this desire to a teacher I had in eleventh grade who made the subject easier to comprehend through the use of visual aids and active class participation. I wanted to assist other students in this subject area in the same way that this teacher had helped me.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

The Noyce program has given me the opportunity to pursue a field of study that is important to me. With this background, I can benefit other students who need help in a subject area that provides crucial life skills.
