Background:
I am 21 and engaged. I come from a small town and am a country girl at heart. I enjoy fishing, kayaking, hunting, and spending time outdoors.

Why do you want to teach:
I would love to teach high school level Geometry.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:
I was teaching a trigonometry lesson to an Algebra II class, and the students were struggling with graphing the trig functions. This, in turn, changed my whole lesson plan due to their lack of graphing skills. My whole plan was taken off course, however, I learned a valuable lesson myself. Sometimes lessons do not go exactly as planned. You have to learn to be flexible and roll with the punches.

What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program has allowed me to focus more on my academic studies than on my financial situation by providing me opportunities to receive a scholarship and an internship. I have been able to enroll in more courses in the semester and still be able to work a part-time job as an intern. The Noyce scholarship has allowed me take the financial burden of college tuition off my parents’ shoulders.
