Name of Noyce institution:
Wake Forest University

Background:

I grew up in West Virginia. My father was a high school math teacher and my mother was an accountant. I came to Wake Forest to get the best education possible.

Why do you want to teach:

My father was a high school math teacher and I saw how much fulfillment he received from watching students learn and improve and I want that feeling as well as to help students learn.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

While leading a Bible study for middle school students while I was home from college, I got the impression that no one was really listening to what I was saying until a week later I heard him telling his mother the same things I had taught the class. This is memorable to me because it was the first time I had really seen something I had said have an impact on another person.

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

The Noyce program was a way to continue to pursue my education without having to go seriously in debt to do it. Without the Noyce program, there is almost no way I would be able to pursue a career in education.
