Background:
I graduated from Cornell University in 2013 with a degree in Mathematics. Additionally, I have minors in both Education and Music.
Why do you want to teach:
I love to help students who may be discouraged or have low confidence, and help them to be independent and confident in their abilities.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
At this point, most of the experiences I have had is in tutoring. Often times in those experiences, students would come to me and start out just wanting the answers to their homework problems. After awhile, it is always really exciting when they seem to be more interested in understanding and learning, and then ultimately when they feel they have grasped the content enough to try problems on their own.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program has given me a great opportunity to get a Master’s degree and become a teacher without incurring great debt. It has been extremely helpful to be able to begin a career with real direction and without worrying too much about finances.
