Background:

I am a “non-traditional” student, returning to college for my B.S. in physics after 8 years of college classes. Now I am continuing my education with a Master’s degree.

Why do you want to teach:

As my 4 year old cousin says, “Because!”

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

My first time teaching Physics II I was describing the properties of magnetic fields and how to map them using a compass. I said, “And you hold the compass here the needle points out to infinity.” A light bulb turned on in my head, this is precisely what the jet of a black hole is! This is why I love teaching, it truly is the only way to learn!

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

To be honest, I simply could not be in this program without the Noyce scholarship!
