Background:
My name is Daniel Duran. I graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington in the spring of 2016 with a major in interdisciplinary studies. I did my practicum in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD and am currently teaching 7th and 8th grade science at Crowley Middle School in the Crowley ISD.
Why do you want to teach:
I like to teach because I know that I am impacting lives each and everyday. I want to be a positive influence and a strong role model for the generations that will lead our civilization in the future.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
During my practicum, we dissected chicken wings when we were studying the unit on body systems. The students were really grossed out at first but really interested in the lab.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce Program has given me a platform to grow professionally. Likewise, I have been able to meet many other great people with ideals like mine and have become good friends with them.
