CSU Stanislaus

Current academic or teaching status:
Senior

N/A

Background:

I am 23 years old and was raised in a small city 2 hours south of Turlock, in Visalia. I have always felt that teaching in high school was my calling. I knew this since my sophomore of high school.

Why do you want to teach:

I feel that teacher requires passion and a lot of patience. I feel that I have developed these skills thanks in part to the Noyce program. I feel that I will be a successful teacher because I have seen many teaching techniques and feel that I have incorporated them into my teaching style.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

My high school teacher’s passion motivated me to be a teacher in more ways than one. He showed me what it takes to reach your students and how enthusiasm when teaching only inspires students to succeed in his class. That is the type of passion I want to bring to the job when I become a teacher.

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

It has allowed me to be succeed in ways I never would have imagined. All the professional development opportunities have given me insight into being a better teacher. The Noyce program to me means the difference between being a prepared teacher when I walk through the door or being a person that doesn’t exactly know what to expect when I see my future students. Fortunately for me the Noyce program has helped me immensely.
