Background:
I began my college career as biomedical engineering major, but switched to education after a year and a half because of the coaching I did as a freshman. I coached a girls’ high school basketball team and fell in love with coaching, the age group, and being a mentor to younger generations.
Why do you want to teach:
I want to shape future generations.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
Because I am still in the midst of my student teaching, it is hard to choose just one memorable teaching experience. The last two years have provided many memories. Each and every time I work with students I learn more and more from them. I have already experienced student success, failure, and even death. I don’t think the end of student teaching will bring an end to my learning how to be a teacher. Each year, each class, and each student requires us, as teachers, to readjust and grow!
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program has been a tremendous help financially in getting me through school on time. The program has also opened me up to a whole network of people and associations that have the same passions I do!
