Background:
I grew up in Lexington, SC and went to Lexington High School. I then went onto the University of South Carolina Honors College and majored in mathematics hoping to become a math teacher.
Why do you want to teach:
I have always loved teaching children. I tutored children in math all through out high school and into college.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
My favorite classrooms are the ones where the teacher allows the students to be interactive in the classroom. I had a teacher who split her students up in groups and then asked the students to answer white board questions. This allowed the students to bounce off one another and reinforce the material learned in class.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program is an awesome program. It enables future students to collaborate with other students in order to become the best teachers possible. At the undergraduate level the Noyce program allows you to attend mathematics and teacher workshops to help educate us on future curriculums and better teacher methods.
