Background:
I have been teaching math for 16+ years both in private and public school. I earned my Bachelors Degree from Azusa Pacific University.
Why do you want to teach:
Teaching gives me the chance to impart my passion for mathematics to the next generation. I desire to show ALL students that they can learn math, enjoy math and be successful in the math classroom.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
I recently had a student send me an email saying that their college professor said they needed to thank their high school teacher for all they taught them about math and physics. This same student was at the top of their class and said it was because of what I taught, how I taught and they way I pushed them to a new limit in their education.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program has caused me to think about how I teach and what I teach. I have found that I now think of each lesson in terms of what I want the students to know-really know-when the lesson is over. Thinking of concepts rather than items has increased the depth of knowledge of my students.
