I grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and my parents moved me across the country to Phoenix in the middle of my sophomore year of high school. I fell in love with science in my AP Anatomy and Physiology class. After trying out the engineering field, I discovered I like to share my knowledge and love for science with others just as my Anatomy teacher did with me. That is when I became excited about teaching!
Why do you want to teach:
I want to make a difference in the lives of children. I want to be a motivating factor for them. School and science should be exciting and something that they look forward to everyday.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
My favorite teaching moments are when I see students take their knowledge and run with it. Either they apply it to a project or they use what they know to help a fellow classmate.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program is allowing me to be more of a full time student. I was holding down several part time jobs to make ends meet. This program is allowing me focus more on school than on the jobs as I was before.
