Background:
Growing up around the Tampa Bay area, I went to Freedom High School in the county where I plan on teaching. I graduated in May 2012 with a B.A. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of South Florida (USF).
Why do you want to teach:
My entire life has been about education and learning, and with the opportunities that the Robert Noyce program has given me, it was an easy choice to make. My parents are both educators at the University of South Florida. They both inspire me to dedicate my life to teaching and education.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
When I was a student at USF, I occasionally tutored in the Urban Scholars Outreach Program. I had a number of good experiences working with students from urban communities.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce Program has meant that I could become an educator myself. The program opens doors to a real community of teaching professionals.
