Background:
I graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a BS in Biology and a minor in Astrophysics. I attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC to earn a Master’s of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Biology and now teach biology to freshman as a first-year teacher at Rock Hill High School.
Why do you want to teach:
I want to help students deepen their knowledge of biology while developing an appreciation for the subject.
Describe a memorable teaching experience:
The most memorable experiences I have are ones where students transition from confusion to a deep level of understanding complex biological concepts. This happened multiple times during my internship experience.
What does the Noyce program mean to you:
The Noyce program has allowed me to become a high school science teacher and share science with my students as we experience it together.
