Background:

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from James Madison University. I moved to Wilmington, NC about three years ago and decided to pursue higher education two years ago. My journey to become a teacher has greatly inspired me to impact the lives of young people.

Why do you want to teach:

I want to teach because I want to make a difference in the lives of young people. I believe education is so important and want to be a part of helping others be successful in life.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

Volunteering at WRAAP (Wilmington Residential Adolescent Achievement place), an after-school program, has expanded my heart and taught me so much. I hope to work mainly with underprivileged children.

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

This STAR Noyce scholarship means so much more than financial help. The support I have already received, and the future support that will be available to me as I become a teacher is priceless.
