Background:

I am the first in my family to even get to college. I am striving to succeed and giving up is never an option. I am pursuing a higher education to first achieve my personal goal, and second, to make a difference by helping to educate students.

Why do you want to teach:

I want to teach mathematics to middle and high school students.

Describe a memorable teaching experience:

I do not have any experiences in teaching math, but I do help some of my classmates with math problems. Math is absolutely my favorite subject, and I speak of it with a great passion. I know that math is usually not one of most students’ favorite subjects, but I am confident that I can change that. I will use different approaches to let the students familiarize themselves with the basics. I will go out of my way to really educate our youth. I am sure that with my degree I can make a great and positive change to those students I am teaching. I feel math needs to be a subject studied at least five days a week to keep the children up to speed.

What does the Noyce program mean to you:

I know that with this opportunity I do not have to work many hours to pay my tuition.
