Need

1) Noyce personnel can assemble to learn from one another by sharing the challenges and successes of their individual projects; 2) Noyce scholars can collaborate, share experiences and expertise to inspire and support on another; 3) professional development workshops are provided to meet specific needs of Noyce scholars; and 4) cultural awareness and competence is enhanced for both Noyce personnel and scholars.

Goals

Our goal is to provide a series of learning and networking opportunities prior to, during, and after this event to increase the potential for each Noyce project to make a large impact on the entire Southeast region.

Approach

Objectives of the conference include providing an environment where 1) Noyce personnel can assemble to learn from one another by sharing the challenges and successes of their individual projects; 2) Noyce scholars can collaborate, share experiences and expertise to inspire and support on another; 3) professional development workshops are provided to meet specific needs of Noyce scholars; and 4) cultural awareness and competence is enhanced for both Noyce personnel and scholars.

Our goal is to provide a series of learning and networking opportunities prior to, during, and after this event to increase the potential for each Noyce project to make a large impact on the entire Southeast region.

Outcomes

Prior to and following this year’s conference, we have engaged and hope to continue to engage Noyce personnel, teachers, and scholars by launching the Southeast Regional Noyce Network (SRN2) as well as social media outlets for the community. The purpose of this network is to build a community of learners through a series of webinars, discussion forums, and videos focused on topics and issues relevant to each group. Each group will have strands/themes that will organize information and be an interactive space for discussion and disseminating important resources.

Broader Impacts

The broader impact is regional–to provide a series of learning and networking opportunities prior to, during, and after this event to increase the potential for each Noyce project to make a large impact on the entire Southeast region.
