There is a shortage of qualified STEM teachers in the state of Alabama. it is very important to prepare qualified Math and Science Teachers to overcome this shortage. Yes, It provides data for the research on to prepare qualified Math and Science Teachers to overcome this shortage.

Goals

How to prepare qualified Math and Science Teachers to overcome the shortage in Alabama.

Approach

Recruiting qualified students and training them to prepare them to be qualified Math and Science Teachers to overcome the STEM teacher shortage in Alabama.

Outcomes

The key outcome is to prepare qualified Math and Science Teachers to overcome the STEM teacher shortage in Alabama.Key deliveries are qualified STEM Teachers for high need school districts.Provide mentoring and guidance for graduated Noyce scholars when they are teachers in high need school districts.

Broader Impacts

This program serves to help remedy the shortage of science and mathematics teachers and provide promise for expanding this program for the recruitment, retention, and preparation of STEM teachers. The broader impact of this work also centers on the increased diversity of science and mathematics teachers as well as the fulfillment of community needs in increasing the pool of qualified educators in north Alabama. As Noyce scholars, they will receive mentoring and guidance when they are teachers in high need school districts.
