Need

Induction support helps to retain teachers, but there is a dearth in the knowledge about this for high need schools.

Research Questions

How does induction support look in both rural and urban high need schools?

Approach

This is a qualitative study that interviews two students as they enter their induction year of teaching, after finishing a year-long residency in our Noyce program.

Outcomes

We are still working on the outcomes, but anticipate to find some similarities between both school induction programs, but specific differences due to their types of environments.

Broader Impacts

Learning about induction in this program can help other schools and programs better support their new teachers and differentiate any types of specific support for rural or urban.
